Prenatal yoga is appropriate for pregnant people with all levels of experience with yoga as well as at any stage of pregnancy. This class aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for pregnant people to learn about the benefits of yoga, understand how to adapt their yoga practice to meet their body’s ever changing needs, and connect with other parents in their community.
The prenatal practice allows for many opportunities to find the balance between effort and ease. It also creates space to slow down, tune in, and take note of how students are feeling in the present moment without judgement. It gives them space to find humor and humility, to explore different routes to make the yoga postures (asana) work for them, and to build confidence in their body and its ability. This class aims to help students feel empowered through strong standing postures, to soften and surrender in restorative postures, to properly engage and relax the pelvic floor muscles to help with delivery and postpartum recovery, and to offer a place of respite where they can focus on self-care.
The connection with the breath (pranayama), the strength and stamina, and the ability to accept change with reverence will be invaluable during labor and delivery, and will also be useful tools as they journey into parenthood. Students are encouraged to sign up for the 5 week series to have the opportunity to build community in a small, close knit group to be able to foster a deeper connection with one another, to develop their yoga practice, and to set time aside for their well-being.
Benefits of joining us for the entire 5 Week Prenatal Yoga Series:
Bring a partner, friend, loved one, or support person with you to each class for free, so you can start building your village
Access to a Private Prenatal Facebook Group to share resources and stay connected.

Access to a Prenatal/Postpartum Digital Resource Bank that has been curated over the past 8 years with helpful websites, podcasts, books, and virtual/ in person contacts for support

It can be so beneficial to commit to the full 5 weeks of practice if you are able to. Our practices will build on one another over time, and I’ll be able to provide feedback and variations to add depth and hold space for your evolving practice. I believe that you will see a multitude of changes when you are able to prioritize this movement, meditation, and breath work in your life.
If you aren’t able to make the 5-week commitment, I completely understand. Any time on your mat is valuable and worthwhile. We would love for you to join us for as many practices as you can! Drop ins are always welcome if there is still space. Advance registration is required to reserve your spot.
Testimonial:
“Sarah’s Prenatal Yoga class was very transformative for me as a soon-to-be first-time mom. I learned strategies that would help me be more comfortable in my body during pregnancy, but also gained access to valuable resources for labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, and beyond. Her readings and journal prompts at the beginning of each class helped me remember why I am so excited to become a parent and provided a safe space for me to share my more vulnerable fears and worries. Sarah is warm and supportive, and I would highly recommend the prenatal class series to people of all skill levels and stages of pregnancy!” — Morgan T.
