“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” - Walt Streightiff
Watching how little ones move and breathe and exist in space can teach us so much about the practice of yoga. They stretch their arms as wide as they can for hugs and stories and rock walls. They try new things without the fear of falling or failing or feeling embarrassed for not looking a certain way. They use all of their limbs to crawl and roll and jump and swing and dance. Their chests, ribs, and belly expand with their deep, sleepy breaths. They are in awe of their bodies and their world. They aren’t afraid to take up space and ask questions. Life is all about play, exploration, presence, big feelings and testing boundaries, limits, and at times, their parents’ patience :) What a great reminder to show up fully on and off the yoga mat. I’d love for you to bring your little yogis to come practice together. Chances are you’ll learn a thing or two from your kiddo as well!
The “Mini Yogi and Me” class series is all about celebrating our unique differences, respecting our autonomy over our bodies and our learning, and fostering well-being in an inclusive, safe, interactive, and fun environment. Each class there will be opportunities for engaging games, playful yoga sequences, interactive breathing exercises, and relaxation/mindfulness activities to nurture the whole child and their caregiver. This class will be a great introduction to the benefits of yoga for families who are curious about the practice. We will learn about self-regulating tools to help navigate big feelings, develop kinesthetic awareness, inspire creativity, play, and connection with others, and the list goes on! Families are encouraged to sign up for the 5 week series to have the opportunity to build community in a small, close knit group to be able to foster a deeper connection with one another, to develop their yoga practice, and to set time aside for their well-being. If you aren’t able to make the 5-week commitment, I completely understand. Any time on your mat is valuable and worthwhile. We would love for you to join us for as many practices as you can! Drop ins are always welcome if there is still space. Advance registration is required to reserve your spot.

“Sarah is a teacher through and through. Her face lights up when she teaches. She is full of energy. She is such a positive person; it translates to her students, making them eager to learn.”— Teresa N.
About the Teacher:
Sarah Arteaga has her M.Ed, K-12 teaching certification, and over 15 years of teaching experience in learning settings ranging from camps and after school programs to K-12 public schools and universities. She is an E-RYT 200, RPYT, and YACEP yoga teacher who has been teaching children’s and teen’s yoga since 2016. Sarah conveys an energetic, light-hearted, yet grounded approach to yoga, infusing her classes with opportunities for her students to be creative, silly, strong, open minded, compassionate, and confident in who they are and what their bodies and minds can do. She encourages her students to make time in their day for themselves, for movement and breath work, and for cultivating their practice on and off of their mats. Sarah is a Mamá to a 3 1/2 year old and an almost 2 year old. She enjoys spending time outside with her husband, their little ones, reading and writing poetry, and singing loudly and unapologetically when the mood strikes her.
